Uri

Uri Jimenez, PGA – Head Golf Professional

Uri is a native of Southern California, he grew up in West Covina and has been in the golf industry since 2010. He was a five-sport letterman in high school but didn’t start playing golf until after college. His first job in the industry was a guest service attendant at South Hills Country Club. He is a TPI Certified Instructor who believes in working with each students’ physical abilities to build a swing and golf game that fit the individual. Uri is a student of the game who enjoys learning and growing his knowledge of the swing and game in general. His teaching has been influenced by instructors like Harvey Pennick, Lynn Marriot, Pia Nilsson, and James Sieckmann. 

  “Golf is a game of matchups, there is no one way to go about shooting lower scores. Not only do we all learn differently but we are also all built differently. Because of this simple fact there is not one blueprint to golfing success, but an infinite number. I take pride in getting to know all my students and in helping them develop a plan tailored specifically to the individual to help them improve their game.”

James

James Cassidy, PGA – First Assistant Golf Professional

James grew up in Norwood Massachusetts and attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst before moving to California in 1995.  He completed the Professional Golf Management program and became a Class A PGA Professional in 2014.  A golf instructor for the past 8 years, James has been a student of the game for more than 30 years.  

James has worked with hundreds of juniors between his PGA Junior League teams, the PGA/TGA Golf in Schools program and private lessons.  He also works with adult golfers helping them to lower their scores and to become more consistent ball strikers by focusing on proper fundamental techniques and good course management.

James is currently working on becoming certified by the PGA of America in teaching and coaching.  He lives in Escondido, California with his wife Marilyn.

Colin

Colin Reinschell – Associate Golf Professional

Colin Reinschell is from Stockton, California. He is a San Diego State University alumnus who majored in Journalism and Media Studies. After graduation, he fell in love with the city and the Southern California lifestyle and decided to stay. He is currently a level 1 associate in the PGA program. Colin is a good player himself and qualified for the 2021 Assistants National Championship. He is an enthusiastic young coach with a real passion for the game and helping others enjoy their golfing experience.  

“I am here to help you achieve your goals and doing it OUR way. All students and golf swings are unique, so my approach must be the exact same way. I will help YOU develop YOUR golf swing while also learning how to play the game of golf, not just hit the golf ball. More importantly, we’ll be having a good time doing it and learn how to have fun with the game as we work and develop your skillset.”

Steve Kim – Assistant Golf Professional

Minwook “Steve” Kim is an assistant golf professional from Junction City, Kansas. He is fluent in Korean and graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in business management. Before coming to Maderas, Steve worked for the First tee of Manhattan, helping with the junior program. He is currently enrolled in the PGA apprentice program and working toward his PGA Class A certification.   

“I like to Identify a student’s strengths and improving swing flaws, regardless of age or skill level.  Teaching the fundamentals of the golf swing while keeping individual golfers’ traits. My philosophy as a coach is to develop a swing that works for the students current physical and mobility levels. I do not rely on one swing theory; rather, provide a plan based on movements that enhance a player’s strengths, mobility, and goals. While using the best practice facility here at Maderas, we will have a blast improving your golf game.”

Alec

Alec Correia – Assistant Golf Professional

Alec Correia is a 27-year-old San Diego native from Encinitas, CA.  He started playing when golf he was 16 after growing up playing mainly basketball. He has been working in the golf industry for eight years, seven of them being at Maderas Golf Club and one at Laguna Seca Golf Ranch in Monterey CA.  

“In order to further my career, I am currently in the process of my PGA certification.  I love teaching juniors, as well as beginners. Golf is a hard game. With that being said, I believe in keeping the game light and fun, while learning the proper fundamentals.”

Nolan

Nolan Misch – Assistant Golf Professional

Nolan is 36 years old and from Upland, CA. He is a graduate of Upland High School and The Golf Academy of America. Nolan is also a veteran, he served in the United States Army for 7 years. He is father to 3 beautiful girls Autumn, Noelle, & Meadow. Nolan enjoys teaching short game and introducing the game to the next generation of golfers.

Patrick Baynes – Assistant Golf Professional

Patrick is 28 years old and is from Chula Vista, CA. He played high school golf at Mater Dei Catholic High School and was the captain of the varsity golf team for 2 years. He started in the golf industry working guest services at San Diego Country Club before moving to Singing Hills Golf Club as an assistant golf professional. His latest job before Maderas he was teaching golf at Stadium Golf Center for the last 5 years. Patrick is a good player and competes locally in chapter and section PGA events. 

“I enjoy taking a complicated movement like the golf swing and simplifying it for the student. Once a student has built a reliable swing then we move to the golf course and work on course management and shot selection”  

Joseph

Joseph Meza – Tournament Director, Assistant Golf Professional

Born and raised in San Diego, Joey Meza has worked in the golf industry for over 15 years. With years of club repair, club fitting and tournament director experience, he is extremely knowledgeable of all aspects of the golf business. As the former coach of the Valhalla High School men’s and women’s golf program and director of Singing Hills Junior Program, he has worked with students of all ages and skill levels to encourage a fun, dynamic learning environment focused on giving students the tools and confidence needed to recognize their abilities, analyze their results, and maximize their enjoyment of the game of golf.
